With Our Unique Partnership Model, We Put Our Money Where Our Mouth Is

As mentioned in a previous blog article, every small business or startup looks completely different.

Some feature well-thought-out business plans with months or years spent laying the groundwork, and some (if not most) are conceived one night over dinner or drinks, with the founder(s) simply saying, “Let’s go for it!”

Each business must tailor its go-to-market plan based upon the realities of current resources, both financial and chronological. However, one factor typically is similar for every young business: the specific service it provides the marketplace — the very service/product/mission its founders are truly passionate about that initially inspired them to say, “Wouldn’t it be awesome if we got to spend all day every day doing ______?” However, if you don’t get your business in front of the people who need it and would love it, the efforts that go into producing it are a complete waste. That’s where we come in.

Our Mission

The driving force behind Alcorn Agency is to provide creative strategies and opportunities that meet small businesses where they are — today, right now. Enough with the cookie-cutter approaches, marketing packages and project minimums. If we believe in what you’re offering the marketplace and see opportunity to help you grow, we’ll jump right in with you. Sure, we have hard costs that we have to cover for our business. However, we believe that — as long as we’re responsible with our internal decision-making and we steward our finances and time effectively — we will be afforded the opportunity to serve other businesses in ways that most other creative agencies either can’t … or won’t.

We’ll jump right in with you.

How It Works

The first thing we do is hold a “roadmapping” exercise derived from a project-management methodology called “Agile.” During this exercise, our team will work with you to uncover all of the efforts that need to be executed in order to convert your target audience. It is a relaxed and collaborative couple of hours, but it’s also incredibly productive as we will discuss ways of marketing your business you may not have realized or considered. Once we’ve uncovered and organized all of the necessary details within the roadmap, our team will take what we’ve laid out together and create a proposal for how we can serve you in the short term as well as in the long term.

Based upon what we heard in the room about the specifics of where your business is presently, we either will propose a reasonable plan that involves a straight agency fee fitting your budget and timelines, or we will propose a solution requiring some risk on our end. It may be a small agency fee plus commission/equity-based repayment based upon marketing/sales performance. This is where, like we say, “we put our money where our mouth is.” (Examples of this agreement in action are the marketing partnerships we have with local businesses Grace & Grit and W Durable Goods.)

We believe so greatly in these people and in the products they’re providing. And we know that, if we do our best work to promote these brands to the market and create powerful online sales/marketing experiences, we all will be greatly rewarded — both financially and by fulfilling our promise to our clients to help them grow and succeed.
